General Job Requirements:
The Baking Class Instructor of Ellie's is a key position on the Baking & Pastry Team. They are responsible for organizing and executing baking workshops and classes for guests and clients of Ellie's. The ideal candidate serves as an ambassador of Ellie's, working to lead the team at large in a positive and productive manner. This person will contribute to, and carry out the creative vision of Ellie's mission statement. Above all, the Baking Class Instructor is expected to foster a positive working environment, create genuine guest experiences, and a memorable working and dining experience.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Instruct Ellie’s private and public macaron and cake classes
- Participate in creative conversations in class development, future improvements, and goals in an open forum
- Establish and maintain the workshop event orders and details
- Perform an inventory of relevant products and tools to ensure you and every student has what they need for the class
- Ensure proper usage of equipment and tools, ensuring proper cleanliness and instructing teammates to do the same
- Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of kitchen working space both throughout production and daily break-down, in accordance with the Rhode Island Health Code and Ellie's standards Metrics for Success

- Positive and professional communication with teammates and guests alike, building strong work relationships
- Can successfully communicate with a class and instruct them how to make the desired product with in the allotted class time
Hiring Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bakery operations, or similar field
- Associate's degree from an accredited University in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, or similar field of study
- Knowledge of food preparation and existing health and safety standards -Basic cake decorating skills
- Basic macaron baking skills
