Training and Development Specialist Providence Rhode Island School of Design

General Job Requirements:

This position will conduct and oversee training and development programs at all levels of the Auxiliary Services organization that aim to support both strategic and tactical initiatives determined by the senior leadership team. This role will support the design, creation, implementation, and delivery of ongoing training programs and ensure they deliver on key service standards, have high staff satisfaction, and ultimately contribute to the business strategy that supports RISD Auxiliary Services’ overall success. Utilizing innovation and creative approaches to continuous improvement, this role will serve as a champion in ensuring the delivery, absorption and adoption of key messages including our vision, values, and mission within a diverse organization. The successful candidate will assist in the hiring process for new employees, as well as serve as the main point of contact and liaison between Auxiliary Services, Human Resources- and new employees to facilitate timely recruitment and onboarding.

Education Requirements:
Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms such as OPUS, and LinkedIn learning. High level of functionality in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite Ability to research and prepare analysis and data summary reports. Proficient computer skills, Microsoft OfficeSuite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), SLACK, ZOOM, Google Suite, and instructional software. Collaborates effectively with key stakeholders to develop, strengthen, maintain, and leverage strong, lasting relationships with a wide variety of groups including students, staff, faculty, campus partners, service providers and the larger community. Ability to effectively communicate to ensure program success from the development to the execution of training initiatives. Demonstrate an ability to take initiative and prioritize appropriately when managing multiple high-volume tasks and can adapt to frequent changes in priorities. Exhibit excellent presentation, facilitation and training skills that enhance the overall program outcomes. Be able to effectively motivate staff to ensure positive results and high rates of learning. Proven ability to ensure that all team members recognize and value an environment that supports and accommodates a diversity of people, opinions, cultures, and ideas. Willingness and curiosity to participate in diversity and inclusion training to evolve professionally and refine skills associated with positively influencing the work environment and culture. Ability to proofread documents required. An aptitude for and interest in learning/utilizing new technologies. A positive attitude and the ability to relate well to diverse populations and to help foster a community environment. Ability to demonstrate, promote, and recognize RISD standards for excellent client service, effective use of resources, professional development, personal accountability, and continuous improvement. Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent training and experience. Minimum of two (2) years' previous experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position. Certification from talent and training associations is a plus. Experience with Workday and Kronos is a plus. Multilingual skills are a plus. Experience with Retail and/or Dining Service and Hospitality operations with exposure to food quality, customer service, and/or food safety issues preferred.
