The University Club of Providence on Benefit Street is seeking an enthusiastic, proactive, and detail-oriented Host/Reservationist to join our team. Our private club, located in the heart of Providence, RI, is renowned for its fine-dining experience and elegant event space for our esteemed members. As a Host/Reservationist, you will be the first point of contact for our members and guests, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere while working diligently to build relationships and get to know our members and their preferences. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the reservation system and ensuring that the dining areas and private rooms are set up and available for seating according to the reservation schedule.
Responsibilities will include:
Answering incoming calls and assisting with reservations Greeting and welcoming members and guests upon arrival Managing the reservation system, including maintaining an accurate record of reservations, cancellations, and special requests Coordinating with the waitstaff and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery Keeping the front entrance, foyer, and desk clean and organized Building relationships with members and guests, and ensuring their preferences are known and acted upon Performing other related duties, as required.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry, particularly in a fine-dining establishment Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must have a friendly demeanor, with a passion for providing exceptional service Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask efficiently Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
