Visitor Center Manager Warwick Providence Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau

General Job Requirements:

The Visitor Services Manager manages all operations and personnel associated with the Visitor Services Center. Responsibilities include developing the Center as a resource for the local community, the PWCVB partners, meeting/convention/sporting event attendees, and leisure visitors.

Essential Functions:

  • Customer/Client Focus Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Maintains a well-informed, working knowledge of the partners, attractions, and services available in the area to visitors, acts as a liaison between these entities and the visitor
  • Oversees the recruiting, training, and supervising of all Visitor Center staff and volunteers
  • Ensures that all inquiries from mail, walk-in, email, and telephone receive prompt and comprehensive responses
  • Ensures that the PWCVB Visitor Center is well maintained and stocked with partner brochures and other pertinent collateral; gathers event information for the agency
  • Coordinates deliveries and pick up materials from community and partners
  • Develop specialized visitor information as needed.
  • Research new tourism products or activities beneficial to the visitor
  • Tracks fulfillment of all mail, email, and phone inquiries and produces monthly reports; compiles a monthly report from the daily visitor logs
  • Coordinates logistics and staff for off-site visitor information tables for conventions and special events
  • Coordinates weekly staff schedules
  • Coordinates familiarization trips, and the annual holiday luncheon for the Visitor Center staff and volunteers
  • Deliver public presentations focused on visitor services and attractions upon request
  • Engage with local constituencies to enhance the Providence visitor experience
  • Oversee the "Positively Providence" program and other customer service training for hospitality community. When possible, attends event kick-off meetings as a member of the services team

Work Environment:
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires sitting, standing, walking, and bending. The employee may have to lift boxes/items weighing up to 25 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. On occasion, some evenings/weekends/holidays may be required. Travel Some travel may be required to accommodate site visits, trade shows, and trainings

Requirements:
Experience working with volunteers Strong and consistent ability to prioritize activities and to handle multiple responsibilities within a specific time frame Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook and the ability to quickly learn industry related windows software

Requirements: Outgoing:

Education Requirements:
Two years of experience preferred.
