Position Summary:
Fleur Restaurant is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and creativity. This leadership role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing staff, and contributing to menu development.

Key Responsibilities: Kitchen Operations:
Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. Oversee the kitchen team to ensure high-quality, timely food delivery during service. Maintain consistency in the execution of all dishes to meet Fleur's standards. Leadership and Team Management: Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and professional environment. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with local regulations. Create staff schedules to ensure optimal kitchen coverage.

Menu Development and Innovation:
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and refine menu items, incorporating seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients. Assist in creating new specials and innovative dishes to enhance the guest dining experience. Inventory and Cost Control: Monitor and manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies without overstocking. Maintain food cost percentages by minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency. Assist with vendor relationships and ordering to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Guest Experience: Support front-of-house staff by ensuring communication between the kitchen and servers is clear and efficient. Address and resolve any guest concerns related to food quality or preparation promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef in an upscale or fine-dining environment (3+ years preferred). Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse kitchen team. Exceptional knowledge of French cuisine and culinary techniques. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Proficiency in inventory management and food cost control.
